It wasn’t until the 1870s that the British government launched English secondary schools, and after the war, more schools were built in various parts of the city.
The museum opened its doors to the public on Teacher’s Day; September 1, 2011. Since then, it has served as an important research and gathering venue for teachers, as well as researchers.
The gallery also honours the contributions of teachers and educators who have helped shape education in the country. A centre for professional development is also found within the premises.
Highlights within the gallery include the Heritage Zone, Inspiration Garden, Upper Floor Galleries, and the Outdoor Trail.
