LIVINGSPACE (HDB Gallery), Exhibitions & Opening Hours, Singapore
Since 1960, the HDB has already constructed over 1 million flats in 23 suburbs throughout the island, providing homes for around 80% of the population. They have built properties in Pasir Ris, Tampines, Central, Geylang, Woodlands, Bedok, and many more.
The gallery gives visitors a peek into the lives of HDB residents while learning about the many homes being developed for the future. Its numerous features include a life-sized hologram, which enables visitors to see life-sized actors come to life while sharing their experiences with homeownership.
Level 1 consists of an exhibit called “HomeScape”, which allows you to experience the panoramic and picturesque views of HDB towns and estates, to discover a side of the homes you never knew.
Basement 1, on the other hand, is made up of 6 unique exhibits and a Theatre. Embark on a nostalgic journey through the evolution of Singapore’s public housing, and understand the principles and methodologies that guide HDB’s comprehensive town planning efforts. Discover how HDB develops quality living environments that are smart and sustainable, and learn how the cherished homes are shaped through forward-looking policies and programmes.
LIVINGSPACE is located in the HDB Hub at 480 Toa Payoh Lorong 6 in Singapore. Operating hours are 8:30am to 5pm, Mondays through Fridays, and admission is free.
