The Novena Church attracts devotees from all over the country and has popularised the ritual of Saturday novenas. On Sundays, they then go to their respective parish churches for Sunday Mass.
One of the most popular novenas here are those for Our Lady of Perpetual Help, which was started in 1949 by the Redemptorists in a tiny chapel. Annual processions take place every year on the first Sunday of September for Our Lady of Perpetual Help. In some occasions, the processions exceed as much as 30,000 people.
The Church of Saint Alphonsus also holds weekly masses. Weekday mass, from Monday to Friday, takes place at 6:30am, 12:15pm, and 6:30pm – with confessions held half an hour before all masses. Sunset Mass is available at 6:30pm on Saturdays. Sunday Mass is held at 8am, 10am, 12pm, and 5:30pm.
Masses are held in Tagalog on every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the 12pm mass, due to the significant Filipino following who attend mass here. Saturday novena devotions take place in English and Mandarin.
