Chijmes is an iconic building complex which was opened in 1840 and ran as a Catholic convent for 132 years. Today, it operates as a multi-purpose hall. A unique building on the Singapore skyline, you can find Chijmes in Downtown Core, right near Raffles City shopping complex.

The building complex boasts a Gothic style with many unique features. Close to the convent was another building was known as Caldwell House, which now operates as an art gallery. Owing to their rich history and heritage, both buildings have been gazetted as national monuments in Singapore.
